1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Zappify ("we," "our," or "us"), the developer of the Zappify Smart IPTV Player application (com.zappify.player), handles information when you use our Android application.

By downloading or using the Zappify app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. This policy applies to the Zappify mobile application available on the Google Play Store. It does not cover third-party IPTV service providers or external services you access through the app.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Zappify does not require you to create an account with us. The only information you enter is:

• IPTV Provider Credentials: Server URL, username, and password for your IPTV subscription. Stored locally on your device only — never sent to our servers.
• Playlist Name: A label you assign to your playlists for your own organization.
• Parental Control PIN: An optional 4-digit PIN stored locally on your device.
• App Settings: Theme, language, player settings, and preferences stored locally.

Automatically Collected Information

We do not automatically collect personal information. The following is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

• Watch history and playback positions (for resume functionality)
• Favorite channels and bookmarks
• EPG cache data
• Content metadata cached from TMDB

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Name, email address, or contact information
• Location data or GPS information
• Browsing history outside the app
• Content of your streams or what you watch
• Contact list, camera, or microphone data

3. How We Use Information

Since we collect minimal information, our use is equally minimal:

• App functionality: Your IPTV credentials are used solely to connect to your provider's API.
• Personalization: Your settings customize your in-app experience.
• Resume playback: Locally stored watch positions allow you to continue where you left off.
• Parental controls: Your PIN enforces content restrictions you have set.

We do not use any information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app's stated features.

4. IPTV Credentials & Security

Your IPTV credentials are sensitive. Here is exactly how Zappify handles them:

• Local storage only: Stored on your device using Android's encrypted DataStore and Android Keystore.
• Direct connection: Your device communicates directly with your IPTV provider's servers. We are not an intermediary and never see your credentials or stream data.
• No cloud sync: Credentials are never uploaded to our servers or any cloud service.
• Encrypted at rest: Android Keystore ties encryption keys to your device hardware.

5. Third-Party Services

TMDB (The Movie Database)

Zappify uses the TMDB API to fetch movie and series metadata (titles, descriptions, cast, backdrops, ratings). When you browse movies or series, the app makes API requests to TMDB's servers. See TMDB's Privacy Policy.

Google Play Services

The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect device and usage information as part of their platform. See Google's Privacy Policy.

ExoPlayer / AndroidX Media3

We use Google's ExoPlayer for media playback. This is a local library that does not transmit any data externally beyond what's required to stream content from your provider's servers.

Google Cast (Chromecast)

Premium users may use Chromecast casting via Google Cast SDK. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

6. In-App Purchases & Billing

Zappify offers optional premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase through Google Play. Zappify is completely ad-free for all users — free and premium.

• Payment processing: All payments are processed exclusively by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details.
• Purchase verification: We use Google Play's billing library to verify purchases on your device.
• Subscription management: Manage, pause, or cancel through the Google Play Store.

7. Children's Privacy

Zappify is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at zappify.help@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.

Zappify includes optional parental control features (PIN-based content locking) to help adults manage accessible content.

8. Data Retention

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• App settings & credentials: Retained until you delete the app or clear app data from Android Settings.
• Watch history & favorites: Retained on your device until cleared within the app.
• EPG & metadata cache: Automatically managed; older entries are periodically purged.

Uninstalling Zappify permanently removes all locally stored app data.

9. Your Rights

Since we do not maintain a user database, most data rights are exercised directly on your device:

• Access & export: Use the Backup feature in the app to export all your data as a JSON file.
• Deletion: Clear app data via Android Settings → Apps → Zappify → Clear Data, or uninstall the app.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect information stored in the app:

• Android Keystore encryption for IPTV credentials
• Encrypted DataStore for app preferences and sensitive settings
• HTTPS for all external API communications
• No backend server — there is no Zappify server that could be breached to expose your data

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and note significant changes in the app's Google Play release notes.

Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
