1. About This Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Zappify ("we," "our," or "us"), the developer of the Zappify Smart IPTV Player application (com.zappify.player), handles information when you use our Android application.

By downloading or using the Zappify app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you disagree, please uninstall the application.

This policy applies to the Zappify mobile application available on the Google Play Store. It does not cover third-party websites, IPTV service providers, or external services you access through the app.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Zappify does not require you to create an account with us. The only information you enter is:

• IPTV Provider Credentials: Server URL, username, and password for your IPTV subscription. These are stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to our servers.
• Playlist Name: A label you assign to your playlists for your own organization.
• Parental Control PIN: A 4-digit PIN you optionally set for parental control features, stored locally on your device.
• App Settings: Your preferences such as theme, language, player settings, and other configuration choices, stored locally on your device.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

We do not automatically collect any personal information. The following data may be processed locally on your device but is not transmitted to our servers:

• Watch history and playback positions (stored locally for resume functionality)
• Favorite channels and bookmarks (stored locally)
• EPG cache data (stored locally for performance)
• Content metadata cached from TMDB (for UI display)

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Name, email address, or any contact information
• Location data or GPS information
• Device unique identifiers (beyond what AdMob requires — see Section 6)
• Browsing history outside the app
• Content of your streams or what you watch
• Contact list, camera, or microphone data

3. How We Use Information

Since we collect minimal information, our use is equally minimal:

• App functionality: Your IPTV credentials are used solely to connect to your provider's API to display your channels, movies, and series.
• Personalization: Your settings and preferences are used to customize your in-app experience.
• Resume playback: Locally stored watch positions allow you to resume where you left off.
• Parental controls: Your PIN is used to enforce content restrictions you have set.

We do not use any collected information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than operating the app's stated features.

4. IPTV Credentials & Security

Your IPTV login credentials (server URL, username, password) are sensitive information. Here is exactly how Zappify handles them:

• Local storage only: Credentials are stored on your device only, using Android's encrypted DataStore and Android Keystore system.
• Direct connection: When you open the app, your device communicates directly with your IPTV provider's servers. We are not an intermediary — we never see or receive your credentials or stream data.
• No cloud sync: Your credentials are never uploaded to our servers or any cloud service.
• Encrypted at rest: Credentials are encrypted using Android Keystore, which ties encryption keys to your device hardware.

5. Third-Party Services

Zappify integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

5.1 TMDB (The Movie Database)

Zappify uses the TMDB API to fetch movie and series metadata (titles, descriptions, cast, backdrops, and ratings). This enriches your browsing experience. When you browse movies or series, the app makes API requests to TMDB's servers. TMDB may log these requests. See TMDB's Privacy Policy.

5.2 Google Play Services

The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect device and usage information as part of their platform. See Google's Privacy Policy.

5.3 ExoPlayer / AndroidX Media3

We use Google's ExoPlayer for media playback. This is a local library that does not transmit any data externally beyond what's required to stream content from your provider's servers.

6. Advertising & Google AdMob

The free tier of Zappify displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. Premium subscribers see no ads.

What AdMob Collects

Google AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, including:

• Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / GAID)
• Coarse device information (device type, OS version)
• IP address (for general geographic targeting)
• Ad interaction data (clicks, views)

Opt Out of Personalized Ads

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

• On your Android device: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• Or by resetting your Advertising ID in the same menu

7. In-App Purchases & Billing

Zappify offers optional premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase through the Google Play Store.

• Payment processing: All payments are processed exclusively by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details.
• Purchase verification: We use Google Play's billing library to verify purchases on your device. No personal financial information is transmitted to our servers.
• Subscription management: You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription through the Google Play Store.

8. Children's Privacy

Zappify is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@zappifyiptv.com and we will take appropriate action.

Note: Zappify includes optional parental control features (PIN-based content locking) to help adults manage the content accessible through the app.

9. Data Retention

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over retention:

• App settings & credentials: Retained until you delete the app or manually clear app data from your Android settings.
• Watch history & favorites: Retained on your device until cleared within the app or app data is cleared.
• EPG & metadata cache: Automatically managed by the app; older entries are periodically purged.

Uninstalling Zappify from your device permanently removes all locally stored app data.

10. Your Rights

Since we do not maintain a user database or collect personal data on our servers, most standard data rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised directly on your device:

• Access & export: Use the Backup feature within the app to export all your data as a JSON file.
• Deletion: Clear app data via Android Settings → Apps → Zappify → Clear Data, or uninstall the app.
• Advertising preferences: Managed through your Android device's advertising settings (see Section 6).

11. Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect the information stored in the app:

• Android Keystore encryption for IPTV credentials
• Encrypted DataStore for app preferences and sensitive settings
• HTTPS for all external API communications (TMDB, IPTV providers supporting HTTPS)
• No backend server — there is no Zappify server that could be breached to expose your data

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. The best protection is our architecture: your data never leaves your device.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Note significant changes in the app's update release notes on Google Play

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
